Feeling Stuck and Nothing Is Working? (Feel Like Giving Up)

feeling stuck

If you’ve been feeling stuck and like nothing is working lately, this is for you.

There’s a different kind of frustration that comes when you’re actually trying.

Not when you’re procrastinating or avoiding things, but when you’re genuinely putting in effort. You’re working on yourself, you’re trying to change your life, you’re doing what everyone says you’re supposed to do… and still, nothing seems to be changing.

And it gets to a point where you’re just like… what?

What am I doing wrong?
Where is the change?
How much longer is this going to take?

That feeling of being stuck and like nothing is working can be so draining.

Because it’s one thing to be stuck when you’re not trying, but it hits differently when you are trying and you still feel like you’re getting nowhere.

When You’re Trying But Nothing Is Working

I feel like a lot of people talk about growth in a very simple way. Like, “if you don’t like your life, change it” or “just be consistent and it’ll work out.” And yeah, to an extent that’s true. You do have to put in effort.

But what no one really talks about is that phase where you’re doing everything you can… and nothing is reflecting back yet.

That phase is hard.

Because it’s not laziness you’re dealing with, it’s discouragement. You’re showing up, but you’re not seeing results. You’re making an effort, but you’re not getting anything back. And after a while, it starts to get frustrating.

Like properly frustrating.

And if I’m being honest, I feel like I’ve been in that space recently as well. Where it just feels like everything I try to do, there’s nothing coming from it. Whether it’s applying for things, trying to organise guests, or just putting effort into something I care about… it can feel like you’re just putting energy out and getting silence back.

And that silence can make you start questioning everything.

You start thinking maybe it’s you. Maybe you’re not good enough. Maybe you’re doing something wrong. And then you look around and it feels like everyone else is moving forward and you’re just… here.

Stuck.

And it’s draining, because you’re trying your best. You’re doing what you can. And still, you’re not seeing the change you expected by now.

Why You Might Be Feeling Stuck Right Now

But I think one thing I’ve been reminded of lately is that just because you can’t see anything changing yet, doesn’t mean nothing is happening.

A lot of growth is actually very quiet.

It looks like discipline. It looks like continuing even when you don’t feel like it. It looks like choosing not to give up, even when everything in you is telling you to. And those things don’t always give you instant results, but they matter more than we realise.

At the same time, I’ve also been thinking about the fact that we’re not fully in control of everything.

You can work hard, you can be consistent, you can do all the “right” things… but when things actually fall into place isn’t always up to you.

And that’s the part that’s hard to accept.

Because we want timelines. We want to know that if we do A, B and C, then D will happen. But it doesn’t always work like that. Sometimes there’s a level of waiting, and trusting, and just continuing without knowing exactly when things will change.

And that can feel so uncomfortable.

There are moments where you just feel like giving up. Like genuinely, what’s the point? How much longer am I supposed to keep going like this?

But I don’t think feeling like that makes you weak. If anything, it just shows that you’ve been trying for a long time without seeing the results yet. Of course you’re going to feel tired.

Of course you’re going to feel discouraged.

But at the same time… you didn’t come this far just to stop here.

Even if it feels like nothing is happening, you’ve still been showing up. You’ve still been trying. And that counts for something, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.

What to Do When Nothing Is Working

I also think sometimes we make things harder for ourselves by looking too far ahead.

You start thinking about everything that hasn’t worked yet, everything that hasn’t happened yet, everything that could go wrong… and it just overwhelms you. Instead of focusing on what’s actually in front of you.

Sometimes it’s not about figuring everything out. It’s just about taking the next step.

Even if it’s small.

Even if it doesn’t feel like much.

Just focusing on what you can do right now instead of everything that hasn’t worked yet.

If you’re feeling stuck, if you’re feeling behind, if you’re trying and it feels like nothing is working… I just want you to know that you’re not alone in that.

There are so many girls going through the exact same thing, even if it doesn’t look like it from the outside.

And just because you’re in this phase right now, it doesn’t mean this is how things are always going to be.

Things can change.

They just don’t always change as quickly as we want them to.

So for now, just do your best with what you have. Take it one day at a time. And even if it feels slow, even if it feels like nothing is happening… keep going.

Inshallah, it will all come together when it’s meant to.
